The Story Behind
Marah Made
Hi, I’m Chelsea — the hands and heart behind this collection of handmade jewelry and curated vintage and modern apparel.
I grew up on the coast in Oceanside, California, and that connection to this place has always been a part of who I am. The landscape — with its people, beach culture, coastal rhythms, and natural beauty — continues to shape my creative spirit and inspire my work every day.
My journey into jewelry-making began in 2020, when I took a single silversmithing class and instantly knew I had found my calling. That experience sparked something deep in me, and from there, I dove headfirst into the craft. While that class gave me a solid foundation, most of my skills have been self-taught — the result of years spent experimenting, learning, and growing in my home studio here in Oceanside.
I have always been drawn to pieces that push my skills further. I welcome the challenge, learning through hands-on experience and the lessons that come with it. At the heart of it all is a deep, genuine love for & dedication to the craft — one that continues to guide and inspire my work every step of the way.
Alongside creating, I’ve had the joy of teaching one-on-one metalsmithing classes in my home studio. Sharing what I’ve learned and helping others discover their own creative voices has been deeply rewarding, and it continues to fuel my passion for the craft.
Today, I work primarily with recycled metals — solid silver and brass — and carefully select natural stones. I’ve expanded my practice to include sand casting and, most recently, I am learning hand engraving, which I look forward to incorporating into future collections. Each piece is crafted slowly and intentionally, honoring the process as much as the final design.
After a few years of focusing solely on handmade jewelry, I felt called to expand. With a background in fashion and a lifelong love for style, design, and aesthetics, it felt natural to begin offering pre-loved and vintage apparel. It’s another way I express my passion for unique, lasting beauty — and a commitment to sustainability.
My work is deeply inspired by textiles and textures, by nature and architecture, by the sea, by travel, and by the rich visual languages of different cultures. But more than anything, I am inspired by the community that surrounds me — the kind and generous artists, jewelers, and small business owners who have shared their knowledge and helped me along the way. I wouldn’t be here without them.
Everything you find here — whether made by hand or hand-picked — is a reflection of that journey. Thank you for being a part of it.
With Love,
Chelsea
